Full Guide Intro
The Stolen Record Collection recovery mission is one of the earliest optional deliveries that can significantly increase your connection level with the Musician in Death Stranding 2.
While the objective sounds simple, the cargo is hidden along a steep cliffside that can be dangerous to navigate without the proper equipment.
Unlocking Sub Order 103
Before this mission becomes available, you must complete the main order:
011 Destroy the Communications Disruptor and Deliver the Mysterious Recording to the Musician
After finishing that order during Episode 3, the Musician will offer:
103 Recover the Stolen Record Collection
Accept the mission to reveal the search area behind the Musician's shelter.
Reaching The Search Area
The stolen records are located near the bottom of the large cliff directly behind the Musician.
The safest approach is to descend using multiple Climbing Anchors.
You'll likely need:
- At least 3 Climbing Anchors
- Extra stamina
- A careful route back up the cliff
Take your time during the descent, as falling can damage both Sam and the cargo you'll eventually recover.
Finding The Record Collection
After reaching the mission marker, the cargo won't be immediately visible.
From the center of the highlighted search zone:
- Look toward the right side of the cliff.
- Locate the group of Yellow Cargo Containers.
- Cross the steep rocky section leading toward them.
- Use a Ladder if needed to safely reach the containers.
The Stolen Record Collection is located near this area.
If you're struggling to find it, use the Scanner to highlight nearby cargo.
Returning The Cargo Safely
The recovered records are marked as Breakable Cargo.
This means you'll need to be extra careful during the climb back to the Musician.
Avoid:
- Steep drops.
- Jumping from ledges.
- Sliding down slopes.
- Losing balance while carrying the cargo.
A slow and safe return is much better than arriving with heavily damaged records.
Rewards For Completing The Mission
Successfully returning the collection provides a substantial boost to your connection level with the Musician.
Completing the order in excellent condition can raise your connection rank close to Level 3 and unlock additional rewards.
This makes it one of the most worthwhile side deliveries available during the early chapters.
Step-by-Step
- Complete the Musician's main story order.
- Accept Sub Order 103.
- Head to the cliff behind the Musician's shelter.
- Use multiple Climbing Anchors to descend.
- Reach the marked search area.
- Look toward the Yellow Cargo Containers on the right.
- Retrieve the Stolen Record Collection.
- Carefully return it to the Musician.
What You Need
- Sub Order 103
- Access to the Musician
- At least 3 Climbing Anchors
- A Ladder for safer traversal
Best Strategy
Bring extra climbing equipment before starting the mission. The descent is easy enough, but the trip back becomes much safer when you already have anchors and ladders placed along your route.
Rewards
- Large increase to Musician connection level.
- [[LW Shotgun [MP] Lv 1]]
- Miira No Sakebi music track.
- Additional Likes and facility progress.
