All KBF-FM Radio Locations In Alan Wake Remastered

The KBF-FM radio broadcasts are one of the major collectible sets in Alan Wake Remastered. Throughout the campaign, Alan can discover radios playing local Bright Falls talk shows, music, interviews, and commentary tied to the world and characters.

There are 11 radio broadcasts total, and listening to all of them unlocks the KBF-FM trophy.

Unlike some collectibles, the radios are mostly concentrated in the first four episodes, meaning players can accidentally miss several before realizing they are tied to an achievement.

Episode 1 Radio Locations

Episode 1: Nightmare contains two radios.

  • The first radio is located on the back porch of the cabin before crossing the bridge
  • The second radio is inside the Cutting Grove lumber yard shack near the lamppost after using the crane

These early radios are fairly easy to find if you explore the safe areas carefully before advancing.

Episode 2 Radio Locations

Episode 2: Taken contains two radios.

  • One radio sits behind the Bright Falls Sheriff Station on the loading dock walkway
  • Another is hidden inside the second cabin along the trail toward Lovers' Peak

Episode 2 starts introducing more optional exploration paths, so checking cabins and side structures becomes important.

Episode 3 Radio Locations

Episode 3: Ransom contains the highest number of radio broadcasts in the game with five total radios.

  • One radio is found in the trailer park near Rose Marigold's trailer
  • Another appears near the small bridge and safe haven beside the flashbang supplies
  • The KBF-FM Radio Station broadcast activates automatically during the story
  • Another radio is located in the Mirror Peak area after passing beneath the broken bridge
  • The final Episode 3 radio is inside the tower building further along the path

This episode has several branching paths and nighttime combat encounters, making it one of the easiest places to accidentally miss collectibles.

Episode 4 Radio Locations

Episode 4: The Truth contains the final two radios.

  • One radio appears inside the building near the large radio tower on the route toward Anderson Farm
  • The final radio is upstairs inside the building after the large barn and Viking boat section

The final radio is easy to miss because the game pushes players directly toward the next combat area after leaving the barn.

KBF-FM Trophy Requirement

To unlock the KBF-FM trophy, you must interact with and fully listen to all 11 radio broadcasts.

Some radios trigger automatically once activated, while others require staying nearby long enough for the broadcast to count properly.

The broadcasts themselves add a surprising amount of worldbuilding to Bright Falls, mixing local news, strange interviews, humor, and increasingly unsettling commentary as the story progresses.

Why The Radios Matter

The KBF-FM broadcasts are not just collectibles. They help build the atmosphere of Alan Wake Remastered and make Bright Falls feel like a real town slowly unraveling under supernatural pressure.

A lot of players sprint past the radios during combat-heavy sections, but stopping to listen actually adds some of the game's best environmental storytelling. Also, hearing calm radio chatter five minutes before getting chased through the woods by possessed lumberjacks somehow never stops being funny.

Best Strategy

  • Check cabins, towers, porches, and side buildings carefully
  • Listen to every radio fully before leaving
  • Explore safe haven areas thoroughly
  • Grab radios during natural story progression instead of cleanup later
  • Pay extra attention during Episode 3 since it contains nearly half the broadcasts

Warnings

Most radio broadcasts are concentrated in the early and middle episodes. Missing several can force full episode replay cleanup later if you are going for the KBF-FM trophy.

Rewards

  • KBF-FM trophy
  • Additional Bright Falls lore
  • Extra environmental storytelling and dialogue

Tips

The radio hosts somehow manage to sound both comforting and deeply cursed at the same time. Which honestly feels like the perfect summary of Bright Falls as a whole.

How To Restore The Power Plant Generator In Alan Wake Remastered

To restore power to a generator in Alan Wake Remastered, interact with the machine and press the action button when the rotating indicator needle enters the highlighted green zone. You must successfully hit the timing window three times in a row to fully restore power.

The timing gets faster after each successful crank, so stay focused and avoid pressing too early. Make sure the surrounding area is clear of Taken enemies first, because getting hit will interrupt the mini-game and force you to restart.
