Clea Boss Guide
Clea is one of the most important optional bosses in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. Beyond being tied to some of the game's deeper lore, she also rewards one of the strongest Pictos available for endgame builds.
This encounter is designed for late-game parties and can be significantly more difficult than many story bosses.
How To Find Clea
Clea is located inside the Flying Manor, which can be found between the Forgotten Battlefield and Monoco's Station.
Upon entering the area, you'll meet a mysterious young boy standing before four Nevron statues.
He explains that the Nevrons have stolen Clea's color and must be defeated before she can be freed.
Defeat The Four Nevrons
From the central statue area, four separate routes branch off into different sections of the manor.
Each path leads to a powerful boss encounter.
You must defeat:
- Dualliste
- Goblu
- Eveque
- Lampmaster
After each victory, return to the young boy.
Once all four Nevrons have been defeated, the final door opens and grants access to Clea.
Approaching her immediately starts the battle, so make sure your party is prepared beforehand.
How Clea's Healing Works
The defining mechanic of the encounter is Clea's healing.
After attacking, Clea recovers health unless players successfully avoid the incoming damage.
This means simply surviving isn't enough.
If Clea continues healing throughout the fight, the battle can drag on significantly longer than intended.
Because she summons various Nevrons during combat, reading her attack patterns can initially be difficult.
Best Strategy Against Clea
The most effective approach focuses on maximizing turn economy while limiting Clea's actions.
Apply Slow
Slow reduces Clea's opportunities to heal and gives your party more chances to attack.
Apply Rush
Rush allows your party to take more actions and maintain offensive pressure.
Use Void Damage
Clea is weak to Void attacks.
Bringing characters, weapons, and skills capable of dealing Void damage can noticeably increase your damage output.
Prevent Stuns
Several attacks can leave party members vulnerable.
Using Anti-Stun Luminas helps maintain momentum and prevents lost turns.
Avoid Damage Whenever Possible
Dodging and parrying not only reduces incoming damage but also limits Clea's ability to recover health.
The fewer successful attacks she lands, the easier it becomes to overwhelm her healing.
Is Clea Worth Fighting?
Absolutely.
Many players challenge Clea specifically for her reward Pictos, which is considered one of the strongest defensive tools in the game.
Combined with other powerful Luminas, it becomes a cornerstone of several endgame builds.
If you're preparing for fights such as Simon, defeating Clea is highly recommended.
Best Strategy
- Defeat all four Flying Manor Nevrons before attempting the fight.
- Apply Slow to reduce Clea's actions.
- Keep Rush active on your party whenever possible.
- Focus on Void damage and avoid getting hit to reduce her healing opportunities.
Rewards
- Clea's Life Pictos
- Perfect Chroma Catalyst x1
- Grandiose Chroma Catalyst x3
- Recoat x1
Tips
- Clea is one of the strongest optional bosses in the game and is best attempted during endgame.
- Anti-Stun Luminas can significantly improve consistency.
- Learning her attack patterns is more valuable than trying to outheal her damage.
- Clea's Life becomes extremely powerful when combined with other endgame Luminas.
