Full Guide Intro

The Savior of Terminal Fort Knot trophy is one of the most missable post-game trophies in Death Stranding 2. It requires completing an entire optional prepper questline and defeating a hidden boss that many players never discover during a normal playthrough.

Fortunately, once you know the requirements, unlocking the trophy is fairly straightforward.

Trophy Requirements

Before the trophy becomes available, you must:

  • Connect the Ghost Hunter to the Chiral Network.
  • Connect Terminal Fort Knot to the Chiral Network.
  • Complete the main story.
  • Progress the Ghost Hunter's connection level to roughly 4.5 stars.

Because Terminal Fort Knot is one of the final facilities in the game, this trophy cannot be earned until after the main campaign.

How To Unlock The Ghost Hunter

The Ghost Hunter can be found south of the Data Scientist and before the snowy mountain region leading toward the Chronobiologist.

To connect him:

  1. Deliver lost cargo to the Ghost Hunter.
  2. Or complete Sub Order 109 from the Chronobiologist.
  3. Finish Sub Order 110 after connecting him.

Once connected, you can begin increasing his connection level.

Raising The Ghost Hunter's Connection Level

Lost cargo for the Ghost Hunter is uncommon, so most players will need to rely on deliveries.

Useful sources include:

  • Ghost Hunter orders.
  • Chronobiologist deliveries.
  • Pioneer deliveries.
  • East Fort Knot deliveries.

As you approach each new connection rank, watch for messages on the SSS system.

These messages unlock the next stage of his storyline.

Ghost Hunter Questline Orders

To progress toward the trophy, complete:

Sub Order 111

Rescue the child crying in the bushfire zone.

Sub Order 112

Deliver the rescued Lyrebird to the Animal Shelter.

Sub Order 113

Investigate the moving house and recover the Rusty Chiral Crystals.

After these missions and roughly 4.5 connection stars, the Ghost Hunter will send another SSS message.

This unlocks the final quest:

Sub Order 114: Save F8 from a Voidout

Preparing For The Giga BT Boss

Before traveling to Terminal Fort Knot, stock up on equipment.

Recommended loadout:

  • 3 Blood Bags
  • Boost Skeleton
  • Machine Guns
  • Quadruple Rocket Launchers

You can use the DHV Magellan to fast travel directly to Terminal Fort Knot without penalty.

How To Start The Secret Boss Fight

After accepting Sub Order 114, head to the shoreline outside Terminal Fort Knot.

Move through the tar-covered coastline and floating debris.

As you approach the designated area, the secret Giga BT encounter will begin.

How To Defeat The Giga BT

The Giga BT is massive but relatively slow.

During the fight:

  • Maintain your distance.
  • Focus fire on its body.
  • Watch for sweeping attacks.
  • Monitor its red glowing umbilical cord.

When the cord swells and turns red:

  1. Shoot the cord.
  2. Stun the boss.
  3. Unload rockets and gunfire.

Repeat until the BT is nearly defeated.

For players interested in capturing it, throw an EX Capture Grenade at its head when its health is critically low.

Capturing the BT is optional and not required for the trophy.

Earning The Trophy

Once the Giga BT is defeated:

  • The Savior of Terminal Fort Knot trophy unlocks immediately.
  • Terminal Fort Knot is saved from the Voidout.
  • You can return to the Ghost Hunter.
  • The final connection rewards become available.

Be sure to speak with the Ghost Hunter afterward to finish the questline and earn your five-star connection rewards.

Step-by-Step

  1. Connect the Ghost Hunter.
  2. Complete Sub Order 110.
  3. Raise the Ghost Hunter to roughly 4.5 stars.
  4. Complete Sub Orders 111, 112, and 113.
  5. Accept Sub Order 114.
  6. Travel to Terminal Fort Knot.
  7. Reach the shoreline to trigger the boss.
  8. Defeat the Giga BT.
  9. Unlock the trophy.
  10. Return to the Ghost Hunter for final rewards.

What You Need

  • Completed main story.
  • Connected Ghost Hunter.
  • Connected Terminal Fort Knot.
  • Sub Orders 111-114 completed.
  • 3 Blood Bags.
  • Boost Skeleton.
  • Strong firearms and explosives.

Best Strategy

Bring multiple rocket launchers and focus on the Giga BT's glowing red umbilical cord whenever it becomes exposed. Stunning the boss creates huge damage windows and shortens the fight considerably.

Rewards

  • Savior of Terminal Fort Knot Trophy.
  • Completion of the Ghost Hunter storyline.
  • Five-star connection rewards from the Ghost Hunter.
  • Optional Giga BT capture opportunity.

Tips

This is one of the easiest trophies to accidentally miss because the Ghost Hunter's storyline is completely optional. If you're working toward the Platinum trophy, start increasing his connection level as early as possible instead of waiting until the post-game.
