Quick Answer
Stillwater Cave is a dungeon in Liurnia of the Lakes that rewards the Winged Sword Insignia talisman after defeating the Cleanrot Knight boss. The cave is heavily filled with poison and Scarlet Rot enemies, so bringing healing items and ranged attacks makes the area much easier.
You can also find the full Sage armor set inside the cave, including the Sage Hood, Sage Robe, and Sage Trousers.

Where To Find Stillwater Cave
Stillwater Cave is located in the southeastern section of Liurnia of the Lakes, near the Lake-Facing Cliffs Site of Grace after exiting Stormveil Castle.
To reach the entrance:
- Descend the cliffside platforms toward the marsh
- Follow the cliffs to the right
- Look for glowing spectral jellyfish near the entrance
The jellyfish act like FromSoftware’s version of a giant neon sign saying “something terrible is inside here.”
What You Get In Stillwater Cave
The main reward is the Winged Sword Insignia talisman.
This talisman increases attack power during consecutive hits, making it extremely strong for:
- Fast dexterity weapons
- Dual wield builds
- Blood loss setups
- Aggressive melee playstyles
You can also collect:
- Sage Hood
- Sage Robe
- Sage Trousers
- Golden Rune [5]
- Golden Rune [6]
- Serpent Arrows
Exploring The Cave
Activate the Stillwater Cave Site of Grace immediately after entering.
The cave is packed with poison flowers and Servants of Rot that apply status effects constantly. Staying on higher ground helps avoid unnecessary poison buildup while moving through the area.
A torch or lantern helps significantly because the cave is dark and several narrow ledges overlook dangerous flower pits.
Many enemies attack from range using poison projectiles, so ranged sorcery or bows work extremely well here.
Finding The Sage Armor Set
As you progress deeper into the cave, watch for a side path leading left into a smaller chamber.
Inside:
- Several bats hang from the ceiling
- Two smaller bats can be sniped early
- One larger bat has much more health and damage
After defeating them, loot the corpses to obtain the full Sage armor set.
The corridor leading into this room also works well for safely backing away while fighting the larger bat.
Navigating The Upper Ledges
Return to the main cave path and continue across the upper ledges.
You eventually need to:
- Carefully jump small gaps
- Avoid falling near the giant poison flowers below
- Stay alert for enemies hiding near the wooden planks
Most of the larger flowers are better avoided entirely since fighting them in cramped spaces can become messy very quickly.
Near the end of the cave, you can safely sprint past several slower enemies to reach the boss fog.
Cleanrot Knight Boss Fight
The Cleanrot Knight uses both a spear and sword while applying Scarlet Rot during certain attacks.
The biggest danger comes from the glowing spear attacks, which can quickly inflict rot buildup if you get caught repeatedly.
A few important tips:
- Roll toward or around spear thrusts
- Stay near the dry edges of the arena
- Avoid standing in poison pools too long
- Let summons distract the boss when possible
The arena itself constantly pressures you because of the poison-covered floor, so positioning matters almost as much as dodging.
After defeating the boss, you receive the Winged Sword Insignia talisman.

How To Defeat Margit The Fell Omen In Elden Ring
To defeat Margit The Fell Omen in Elden Ring, you should ideally be around level 25 with a weapon upgraded to at least +3. Prioritize leveling Vigor, use Spirit Ashes like the Lone Wolves or Spirit Jellyfish, and summon Sorcerer Rogier outside the boss gate for extra pressure.
Margit is designed to punish panic rolling with delayed attacks, so wait until his weapon actually starts swinging before dodging. Bleed weapons like the Uchigatana or Reduva work extremely well and can remove huge chunks of his health quickly.

During Phase 1, roll into his axe swings instead of backward and jump over his earthquake shockwaves. In Phase 2, stay close during his fire breath attacks to avoid damage and punish him with free hits while he is locked into long animations.
