Full Guide Intro

The Shattered Gauntlet of Ages is one of the most interesting talismans in God of War. While it initially appears to be a standard shockwave-based talisman, it hides a secret inspired by Avengers: Infinity War.

With enough upgrades, resources, and the correct enchantments, the talisman transforms into a powerful weapon that closely resembles the famous Infinity Gauntlet.

How To Unlock The Shattered Gauntlet Of Ages

The talisman is acquired during the Family Business Favor for Sindri.

Before the Favor becomes available, you must:

  • Complete Fafnir's Storeroom
  • Finish the story chapter The Sickness

Once these requirements are met, Family Business becomes available in Northri Stronghold, where the talisman can be obtained.

How The Talisman Works

At its base level, the Shattered Gauntlet of Ages unleashes a shockwave attack that can hit multiple enemies.

However, its true strength is hidden behind upgrades and enchantments. Fully upgrading the talisman unlocks all available enchantment slots, allowing it to function much differently than intended at first glance.

Upgrading The Shattered Gauntlet Of Ages

The talisman requires two upgrades before reaching its full potential.

First Upgrade

Requires:

  • 55,000 Hacksilver
  • 2 Dragon Tears
  • 18 Dust of Realms

Second Upgrade

Requires:

  • 90,000 Hacksilver
  • 3 Dragon Tears
  • 25 Dust of Realms

Dust of Realms is earned by closing Realm Tears throughout the game.

Finding Dragon Tears

A total of 5 Dragon Tears are required to fully upgrade the talisman.

Sources include:

  • Defeating Hraezlyr during Inside the Mountain
  • Freeing Otr in Veithurgard
  • Freeing Fafnir during The Flight of Fafnir
  • Freeing Reginn during The Fire of Reginn
  • Collecting the final Dragon Tear near Baldur's dragon after Return to the Summit

Because only five Dragon Tears exist, every one of them is required.

Infinity Gauntlet Enchantments

The talisman can be enhanced using six special enchantments that mirror the Infinity Stones.

Available enchantments include:

  • Andvari's Soul
  • Asgard's Shard of Existence
  • Eye of the Outer Realm
  • Ivaldi's Corrupted Mind
  • Muspelheim Eye of Power
  • Njord's Temporal Stone

Only three enchantments can be equipped at once, which is why the talisman must be fully upgraded first.

Unlocking The Secret Projectile Attack

The secret effect activates when any three of the six special enchantments are socketed into the fully upgraded Shattered Gauntlet of Ages.

This changes the talisman's ability, granting a powerful enemy-seeking projectile attack while still functioning as a close-range weapon.

The result is one of the most entertaining Easter eggs in God of War and one of the clearest references to Avengers: Infinity War found in the game.

Best Early Talismans In God of War

Two of the strongest early talismans in God of War are the Golden Talisman of Protection and the Amulet of Kvasir. The Golden Talisman can be found shortly after reaching the Lake of Nine at Stone Falls, while the Amulet of Kvasir becomes available after reaching Alfheim.

The Golden Talisman improves defense and parrying, while the Amulet of Kvasir rewards perfectly timed dodges by slowing time. Both remain useful well into the later stages of the game.

God of War Combat Guide For Beginners

Combat in God of War is built around defense, timing, and positioning. Success comes from learning when to Parry, when to Dodge, and when to create openings with ranged attacks instead of constantly attacking.

Mastering your shield, axe throws, and stun attacks is often more important than simply dealing damage. Even weaker enemies can become dangerous if you ignore defensive mechanics.

Story, Characters & Side Quests

What To Do After Beating God of War

After finishing God of War, there is still plenty left to do. Players can challenge the Valkyries, explore Muspelheim and Niflheim, complete unfinished Favors, free optional dragons, start New Game+, and take on the powerful Valkyrie Queen.

Many of the game's toughest battles, best rewards, and most challenging content are found after the main story ends, making the post-game one of the most rewarding parts of the adventure.

How To Defeat Valkyrie Queen Sigrun In God of War

The best way to defeat Sigrun, the Valkyrie Queen in God of War, is to arrive fully prepared with upgraded gear, maximum health, strong runic attacks, and abilities that can slow time. Before challenging her, defeat all other Valkyries and place their helmets in the throne circle to unlock the fight.

Because Sigrun uses abilities from every other Valkyrie, she is dangerous at both close and long range. Strong runic builds, healing effects, and careful timing are key to surviving one of the hardest boss fights in the game.

Locations & Collectibles

All Odin's Raven Locations In God of War

There are 51 Odin's Ravens hidden throughout God of War. They are spread across Midgard, Alfheim, Helheim, optional regions around the Lake of Nine, and several Valkyrie chambers.

Many Ravens can be found during the main story, but some require late-game abilities or story progression. Completing the collection requires revisiting earlier areas and exploring optional regions thoroughly.

Bosses & Combat

How To Defeat Valkyrie Rota In God of War

Rota is the Helheim Valkyrie in God of War and relies heavily on aerial attacks, unblockable dives, and a devastating head stomp. The key to victory is learning her attack patterns, blocking her ranged projectiles, dodging her dive attacks, and punishing her whenever she lands.

Before the fight, fill your Runic Attack meters, enter with a full Spartan Rage bar, and bring a Resurrection Stone. Most of Rota's attacks leave her vulnerable for a short time after they finish.
