All Lost Books In Assassin’s Creed Mirage
Lost Books are special collectibles tied to Al-Jahiz and the House of Wisdom in Assassin’s Creed Mirage. Each book contains historical writings hidden behind environmental puzzles, restricted zones, or story-locked locations.
Collecting every Lost Book is required for the Scholar trophy and contributes toward full district completion.
This route is organized in the safest and most efficient order based on story progression and district accessibility.
Harbiyah Lost Books
Al-Tabari: Tafsir Of Al-Tabari
Location: Nestorian Monastery
Travel to the northeastern part of Harbiyah near the monastery viewpoint. The book marker appears underground rather than inside the main structure.
Head around the stone wall and descend into the underground storage area. Move the bookshelves until you reveal a crawlspace opening near the back wall.
Slide underneath and collect the book from the pedestal inside.
Al-Kindi: De Gradibus
Location: Near the Great Mosque
This book is hidden inside a locked two-story building southwest of the Great Mosque.
Climb onto the rooftop and enter through the upper window. Head downstairs and throw a Throwing Knife at the oil jar through the wall opening. The explosion destroys the barricade blocking the door.
Exit back outside, enter through the now-opened doorway, and collect the book from the rear room.
Abbasiyah Lost Books
Muhammad ibn Musa al-Khwarizmi: Al-Jabr
Location: South of the Great Mosque
This puzzle involves remotely opening a barred entrance.
Aim a Throwing Knife or dagger through the grated opening to destroy the door bar from a distance. Once the door opens, head inside and grab the book.
The Banu Musa: Book Of Ingenious Devices
Location: Observatory / Hakimiyah Bimaristan
Travel to the Observatory viewpoint and head toward the nearby building along the city wall.
Break the weak entrance door, head inside, and pull the bookshelf backward to reveal hidden stairs leading upward.
The book waits at the top of the staircase.
Karkh Lost Book
Kalila And Dimna
Location: Tuesday Market
The Tuesday Market is technically a restricted area, so stealth helps here.
Approach from the southeastern side and climb onto the rooftop. Eliminate or avoid the guards nearby, destroy the breakable window, and enter the building.
The book is sitting on a table inside the guarded room.
Wilderness Lost Book
Suleiman Al-Takir: Accounts Of China And India
Location: Jarjaraya
Travel to the far southeastern edge of the map near the swamp ruins.
Climb the nearby ladder and grab one of the explosive oil jars. Throw it onto the breakable stone floor below to open the underground chamber.
Drop inside and collect the hidden Lost Book.
Round City Lost Book
Diwan Abu Nu'as
Location: Palace of the Green Dome
This is the only story-locked Lost Book in the game.
You cannot access it until late in the campaign during and after the Serpent’s Nest mission. Once the palace window opens, climb onto the southeastern balcony and enter through the opening.
The book is located on the second floor inside the palace.
Secret Lost Book Reward
After collecting the other Lost Books, Al-Jahiz reveals the existence of a hidden secret book.
Return the final book to him at the House of Wisdom to receive the Monster Talisman cosmetic reward and complete the collection chain.
While the talisman is cosmetic only, finishing the Lost Book set is required for the Scholar trophy and full collectible completion.

Step-by-Step
- Collect the two books in Harbiyah first.
- Move into Abbasiyah and complete the Observatory-related puzzles.
- Enter the restricted Tuesday Market in Karkh for the next book.
- Travel southeast into the Wilderness for the hidden ruins book.
- Progress the main story until access to the Palace of the Green Dome unlocks.
- Retrieve the final story-locked book.
- Return every Lost Book to Al-Jahiz at the House of Wisdom.
What You Need
- Throwing Knives
- Access to all major districts
- Story progression for the Palace of the Green Dome
- Basic stealth and climbing tools
Best Strategy
Collect the Lost Books while naturally progressing through nearby districts instead of saving all of them for postgame cleanup. Most books are located close to viewpoints, investigations, or collectible-heavy areas anyway.
It is also smart to save the Round City book for later since the palace remains inaccessible until near the end of the main story.
Warnings
The Palace of the Green Dome book cannot be collected early no matter how hard you try. The area is fully story-gated until late game progression.
Also, several Lost Book locations are hidden behind extremely suspicious movable shelves. At this point, if Basim sees furniture in a room, he probably assumes there is a collectible behind it.
Rewards
- Progress toward the Scholar trophy
- Monster Talisman
- District completion progress
- Historical lore collectibles
- Completion progress for Explorer
Tips
The Lost Books are some of the best collectible content in Assassin’s Creed Mirage because most of them involve actual environmental puzzles instead of simple map cleanup.
Plus, nothing feels more Assassin’s Creed than breaking into ancient libraries through rooftops and hidden tunnels.

How To Unlock Every Hidden One Bureau In Assassin’s Creed Mirage
The Hidden One Bureaus in Assassin’s Creed Mirage unlock naturally as you progress through the main story and investigate targets across Baghdad. Each bureau acts as a Hidden Ones safehouse, fast travel point, contract hub, and story location.
Most bureaus are hidden beneath rooftops rather than accessible from street level. Use Enkidu to scout for the classic Assassin insignia and look for a green rooftop with an opening or skylight you can drop through.
There are four main bureaus in the game located in Harbiyah, Abbasiyah, Karkh, and the Round City. Once you enter a bureau for the first time, it permanently unlocks as a fast travel point.

There are 6 Tales of Baghdad side quests in Assassin’s Creed Mirage, spread across Harbiyah, Abbasiyah, Karkh, and the Wilderness. Completing them rewards Skill Points, Dirhams, and Power of Favor Tokens.
Most Tales of Baghdad are short narrative-focused quests involving investigations, rooftop traversal, combat encounters, or environmental puzzles. They are also required for full district completion and count toward the Explorer trophy.
None of the Tales are missable, so you can complete them after finishing the main story.

Where To Find Every Dye And Costume In Assassin’s Creed Mirage
In Assassin’s Creed Mirage, dyes are unlocked through story progression, eliminating Order Members, collecting Historical Sites, completing high-difficulty challenges, or purchasing them from merchants across Baghdad.
Costumes work differently from outfits. They completely change Basim’s appearance while keeping the stats of your currently equipped gear. Most costumes are earned through collectibles, major side activities, or endgame challenges.
Some exclusive dyes and costumes are also tied to Full Synchronization, Permadeath Mode, Twitch drops, Ubisoft Connect rewards, and DLC content.

How To Solve The Observatory Puzzle In Assassin’s Creed Mirage
To solve the Observatory puzzle in Assassin’s Creed Mirage, head behind the building during the A Life’s Work quest and climb onto the movable shelving unit. Use a Throwing Knife through the window to destroy the wooden bar blocking the front door.
Once inside, collect the three missing pages around the Observatory area. One page is inside the building, another blows away and must be chased across nearby rooftops, and the final page is located near the top of the Observatory dome.
Return all three pages to Al-Mahani outside the Observatory to complete the quest and earn a Skill Point.

All Gear Chest Puzzle Solutions In Assassin’s Creed Mirage
Most Gear Chests in Assassin’s Creed Mirage are locked behind environmental puzzles, hidden keys, barred doors, or destructible walls. Common solutions include moving shelves, throwing Throwing Knives through windows to break door bars, and using explosive red jars to destroy fragile walls or floors.
Several chests also require story progression before they become accessible, especially late-game locations in Karkh. Using Eagle Vision regularly helps identify destructible objects, movable shelves, hidden windows, and keys much faster.
The hardest chest puzzles are usually found in Upper Harbor, The Four Markets, House of Wisdom, Dur-Kurigalzu, and Al-Jahiz’s House.

How Pickpocketing Works And How To Steal Easier In Assassin’s Creed Mirage
Pickpocketing in Assassin’s Creed Mirage uses a quick-time event where you press the steal button a second time while a shrinking diamond lands inside the blue success zone. Successful steals reward Dirhams, trinkets, keys, or valuable Favor Tokens.
The easiest way to steal without failing is enabling Guaranteed Pickpocket in the gameplay settings. You can also unlock the Pickpocket Master skill to widen the timing window or use Sleep Darts to loot unconscious targets without triggering the mini-game.
Using Eagle Vision helps identify valuable targets quickly since rare loot carriers glow gold instead of white.
