To solve the Observatory puzzle in Assassin’s Creed Mirage, head behind the building during the A Life’s Work quest and climb onto the movable shelving unit. Use a Throwing Knife through the window to destroy the wooden bar blocking the front door.
Once inside, collect the three missing pages around the Observatory area. One page is inside the building, another blows away and must be chased across nearby rooftops, and the final page is located near the top of the Observatory dome.

How To Solve The Observatory Puzzle In Assassin’s Creed Mirage
The Observatory puzzle appears during the A Life’s Work Tale of Baghdad quest in Assassin’s Creed Mirage. The quest takes place in the northwestern part of Abbasiyah near the Observatory synchronization point.
Your goal is to recover three missing treatise pages for the dying scholar Al-Mahani. The biggest obstacle is getting inside the barred Observatory building, which requires using the environment and a Throwing Knife.
How To Enter The Observatory
The main entrance is locked from the inside, so you cannot simply walk through the front door.
Head around to the back of the building and locate the movable shelving unit near the window. Push the shelf fully to the right until you can see through the opening clearly.
From there, throw a Throwing Knife through the window and hit the wooden block barring the front door. Once the barricade breaks, walk around to the front entrance and head inside the Observatory.
First Missing Page Location
The first page starts on top of a nearby rooftop close to the Observatory. As you approach it, the page will blow away and begin drifting across the surrounding buildings.
Chase the page across the rooftops until it lands again near a staircase connected to another building. Grab it quickly before it flies away once more.
If you miss it, the page eventually resets back to its original rooftop location.
Second Missing Page Location
The second page is located near the top of the Observatory itself.
From the synchronization point, move carefully around the dome instead of jumping to the street below. You will eventually reach a platform with an astronomy device and a nearby table.
The second page is sitting directly on top of the table beside the device.
Third Missing Page Location
The final page is inside the Observatory building itself.
After entering through the now-unlocked front door, head upstairs to the second floor. The third page is resting on a nearby desk inside the building.
Once collected, all three pages will automatically complete the investigation portion of the quest.
Return To Al-Mahani
With every page recovered, return to Al-Mahani outside the Observatory.
A final conversation with his son concludes the quest. You can either tell him the truth or comfort him, but the reward outcome remains the same regardless of your dialogue choice.

Step-by-Step
- Start the A Life’s Work quest near the Observatory in Abbasiyah.
- Go behind the Observatory building.
- Push the movable shelf to the right.
- Throw a Throwing Knife through the window to destroy the door barricade.
- Enter the Observatory through the front door.
- Chase and collect the first flying page on nearby rooftops.
- Collect the second page near the top of the Observatory dome.
- Head upstairs inside the Observatory and grab the third page from the desk.
- Return all pages to Al-Mahani.
What You Need
- Throwing Knife
- Access to the A Life’s Work quest
- Basic rooftop parkour skills
Best Strategy
Grab the flying page first before entering the Observatory. Chasing it across rooftops is much easier while the surrounding guards and movement paths are still fresh in your mind.
Using the Observatory synchronization point also makes locating the rooftop page and upper dome page much faster.
Warnings
The flying page can escape multiple times if you approach too slowly. Stay aggressive while parkouring between rooftops or you may have to restart the chase route.
Also, make sure you actually move the shelf fully to the right before throwing the knife. The angle will not work otherwise.
Rewards
- Completion of A Life’s Work
- 1 Skill Point
- Progress toward Tales of Baghdad completion
Tips
This quest feels like classic Assassin’s Creed rooftop gameplay in the best way possible. One minute you are helping a scholar, the next you are sprinting across rooftops chasing loose paper like your life depends on it.
Honestly, Basim deserves cardio trophies at this point.

All Gear Chest Puzzle Solutions In Assassin’s Creed Mirage
Most Gear Chests in Assassin’s Creed Mirage are locked behind environmental puzzles, hidden keys, barred doors, or destructible walls. Several chests also require story progression before they become accessible, especially late-game locations in Karkh. Using Eagle Vision regularly helps identify destructible objects, movable shelves, hidden windows, and keys much faster.
The hardest chest puzzles are usually found in Upper Harbor, The Four Markets, House of Wisdom, Dur-Kurigalzu, and Al-Jahiz’s House.

How To Unlock Every Hidden One Bureau In Assassin’s Creed Mirage
The Hidden One Bureaus in Assassin’s Creed Mirage unlock naturally as you progress through the main story and investigate targets across Baghdad. Each bureau acts as a Hidden Ones safehouse, fast travel point, contract hub, and story location.
Most bureaus are hidden beneath rooftops rather than accessible from street level. Use Enkidu to scout for the classic Assassin insignia and look for a green rooftop with an opening or skylight you can drop through.
There are four main bureaus in the game located in Harbiyah, Abbasiyah, Karkh, and the Round City. Once you enter a bureau for the first time, it permanently unlocks as a fast travel point.

Costumes work differently from outfits. They completely change Basim’s appearance while keeping the stats of your currently equipped gear. Most costumes are earned through collectibles, major side activities, or endgame challenges.
Some exclusive dyes and costumes are also tied to Full Synchronization, Permadeath Mode, Twitch drops, Ubisoft Connect rewards, and DLC content.

All Lost Books Locations In Recommended Order In Assassin’s Creed Mirage
There are 7 Lost Books in Assassin’s Creed Mirage, including one hidden secret book unlocked after finding the others. Returning every book to Al-Jahiz at the House of Wisdom unlocks the Scholar trophy and cosmetic rewards.
The best way to collect them is by district progression. Start with the easier books in Harbiyah and Abbasiyah, move into Karkh and the Wilderness, then save the Palace of the Green Dome book for late game story progression.
Most Lost Books require small environmental puzzles involving barred doors, movable shelves, oil jars, or rooftop entrances.

How Pickpocketing Works And How To Steal Easier In Assassin’s Creed Mirage
Pickpocketing in Assassin’s Creed Mirage uses a quick-time event where you press the steal button a second time while a shrinking diamond lands inside the blue success zone. Successful steals reward Dirhams, trinkets, keys, or valuable Favor Tokens.
The easiest way to steal without failing is enabling Guaranteed Pickpocket in the gameplay settings. You can also unlock the Pickpocket Master skill to widen the timing window or use Sleep Darts to loot unconscious targets without triggering the mini-game.
Using Eagle Vision helps identify valuable targets quickly since rare loot carriers glow gold instead of white.
