Quick Answer
The Queen’s Blood Card Carnival puzzles in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth require specific card placements to win predetermined board setups in Costa del Sol. Unlike normal Queen’s Blood matches, you cannot build your own deck or take turns freely, so every challenge has a fixed solution.
Most puzzles revolve around manipulating pawn spaces, sacrificing cards intentionally, or triggering buffs in the correct order. The first three challenges are required during Chapter 6, while additional advanced and survival puzzles unlock later in Chapter 12.

How Card Carnival Works
Card Carnival is a special puzzle version of Queen’s Blood found in Costa del Sol during Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. Instead of using your personal deck, the game gives you a fixed hand and asks you to outscore a pre-built enemy board.
There are no traditional turns here. The challenge comes from understanding:
- pawn placement
- destruction effects
- combo chains
- lane control
- buff timing
Many puzzles intentionally require sacrificing your own cards to trigger stronger effects.
Three-Card Stud Solution
This opening challenge focuses on winning the top and middle lanes efficiently.
Place cards in this order:
- Fleetwing in the middle square of the bottom row
- Mu in the far-left square of the top row
- Quetzalcoatl in the center-left square of the middle row
This should secure a 5–4 victory.
Go For Choco-Broke Solution
This puzzle heavily rewards stacking points into the bottom row.
Place cards in this order:
- Fat Chocobo in the far-left bottom square
- Posh Chocobo in the middle bottom square
- Chocobo & Moogle in the center-left bottom square
The Posh Chocobo lane bonus should secure the win 17–16.
Mischief-Making Moogles Solution
This challenge revolves around generating extra cards and destroying enemy units.
Place cards in this order:
- Fleetwing center-left middle row
- Moogle Trio far-left middle row
- Moogle Mage center-left bottom row
- Moogle Bard far-left top row
- Grasslands Wolf far-left bottom row
This wins the match 11–6 while unlocking an additional companion card for Cloud.
Spears And Needles Solution
This puzzle uses stacked buffs from multiple Spearhawk cards.
Place cards in this order:
- Spearhawk top-middle
- Spearhawk middle-middle
- Cactuar center-left top row
- Quetzalcoatl bottom-middle
This should secure an 11–6 victory.
Sea Devil By Night Solution
This puzzle intentionally destroys weaker cards to strengthen your Sea Devil units.
Place cards in this order:
- Security Officer center-left bottom row
- Sea Devil center-left middle row
- Sea Devil far-left bottom row
- Mandragora far-left middle row
- Continue sacrificing Mandragora Minions in the center-left bottom slot
Once your Sea Devil cards reach sufficient power, end the match for a 12–8 victory.
Honestly, this one feels less like cards and more like controlled demolition.
A Kingly Clash Solution
This challenge revolves around massively buffing Tonberry King through destruction chains.
Place cards in this order:
- Zu center-left top row
- Zu center-left bottom row
- Tonberry King center middle row
- Mindflayer far-left middle row
- Deathwheel far-left top row
- Deathwheel far-left bottom row
This chain reaction destroys multiple cards and powers up Tonberry King enough to win 16–14.
One Shot, One Kill Solution
This survival puzzle relies entirely on a massive explosive combo.
Place cards in this order:
- Bomb center-right top row
- Bomb right-middle row
- Scrutineye center-right bottom row
- Bloatfloat center-bottom row
- Dyne far-left middle row
This triggers a chain explosion that destroys nearly every enemy card for a 4–0 victory.
Curse Of The Gi Solution
This is one of the hardest Card Carnival challenges and focuses heavily on replacement buffs and card destruction synergy.
Place cards in this order:
- Desert Sahagin center-left top row
- Sandhog Pie center-left bottom row
- Jabberwock center-left middle row
- Crystalline Crab center-left bottom row
- Riot Trooper far-left bottom row
- Replace Riot Trooper with Griffon
- Replace Jabberwock with Gi Nattak
This boosts your remaining cards high enough to finish the match 40–19.
Why Card Carnival Matters
Although these puzzles are optional outside the first required matches, they reward powerful cards for your personal Queen’s Blood collection and contribute toward overall completion progress.
Some of the later puzzles are surprisingly difficult if you do not fully understand destruction effects and lane control mechanics. Thankfully, once you know the exact placements, the entire challenge becomes much easier to clear quickly.

Folio System Guide: Best Skills and Stat Boosts to Unlock First
The best early Folio upgrades in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth are Synergy Skills, Synergy Abilities, ATB Charge boosts, and core offensive or defensive stat nodes. Synergy Skills are especially important because they cost no ATB and help both characters build resources quickly during combat.
Strong early unlocks include Firework Blade for Cloud, Synchro Cyclone for Tifa, Iron Defense for Barret, and Divine Punishment for Aerith. Prioritizing HP, Attack Power, Magic Attack, and ATB-related nodes early makes combat significantly smoother while helping you pressure enemies and stagger bosses faster.
